Come and learn or perfect yourself in the Great Way in the Diois, thanks to the wise advice of our guides and instructors. Between Vercors and Provence, the Diois is a wild region offering a great diversity of cliffs to practice climbing and especially the great way.
The great way, what is it?
Climbing "Great way" differs from the climbing of the "coin" where the height of the track is limited to the length of rope. On a long way, the objective is to climb on large cliffs, on several lengths of rope. We thus make several stops at "relays" in order to be able to evolve over several tens or hundreds of meters.
The Diois is an excellent playground for learn or improve on a great way. We offer several routes depending on your level.

VALCOVER
"Follow the guide" is a large 5 length track located on the climbing site of Valcroissant. You already have an experience in climbing and you reach level 5c? Good news, you are declared fit to do this!
After realizing the first two most arduous lengths in 5cYou can release the pressure on the last three. You will end your climb with a great reminder of 50 meters in spider wire. Sensations guaranteed!
If you are looking for a shorter long way, "Face to the Glandasse" is your ideal climb! 3 lengths of pleasure in a beautifully carved rock, ideal for an initiation to the great way. The advantage of this great way? You can go down either on foot or as a reminder for the most reckless!
Required level: 5c
Ideal for learn reversible climbing techniques and corded beaming 2 to 3 people.
THE CLAPS
The CLAPS climbing site also offers several accessible ascents to discover the great climbing route.
The emblematic way of the diois, "La grande slab du CLAPS" is an ideal route to begin with a great climb. The panorama of this route is breathtaking. The big slab, is 250 meters of pleasure in maximum 5a. By doing this, you will become familiar with grip and progress instantly!
"The twin" is also a great way to get started. It is a large track of only 2 lengths which can be performed in level 4 or 5 (optional) at half-day. The exit offers an unforgettable moment with a magnificent panorama of the chaos of the CLAPS, all installed on the top of the track. To go down, use a 50-metre spider wire reminder!
