Canoe in Drome
Would you like to go down the Drôme by canoe? The Drôme is one of the last natural rivers in France. Every year it welcomes thousands of kayakers who navigate the 44 km of descent that we offer. The descent of the Drôme by canoe is unique, as it does not encounter any obstacles such as dams or structures. It starts from its source in the Pays Diois and joins the Rhône at Loriol sur Drôme. All our descents can be accompanied by instructors or you can hire a boat independently.
Our kayak descents
Drôme Aventure offers several descents of the River Drôme. This allows you to start from a point more or less upstream to enjoy the pleasure of sailing for a half day or full day. Our itineraries start from Die or at the Pont de Quart bridge, and go to the village of Pontaix or to Vercheny (depending on the water level of the river). Kayak hire is available at the leisure hub and access to the departures is by shuttle bus.
Our canoeing routes in the Drôme
The River Drôme lets us offer several canoeing routes: 6km, 8 Km, 11 km and 18 km (we can organise tailor-made routes on request).
Pont de Quart > Die : 1 hour 30 mins to 2 hours ~ 6 km.
A descent of the Drôme in Canoe in the form of a sporty, fun and refreshing trip. Particularly suitable for exploring a twisty part of the Drôme by canoe.
Die > Saint Croix : 2 hours ~ 6 Km.
Departure via the slide at the Pont de la Griotte and the rapids at the Pont Rompu. The River Drôme quickly widens out and offers you a magnificent view of the Vercors mountains. Ideal for a family outing or a first river descent by canoe.
Die > Pontaix : 3 hours to 3 hours 30 mins ~ 11km.
Departure via the slide at the Pont de la Griotte and the rapids at the Pont Rompu. The River Drôme quickly widens out and offers you a magnificent view of the Vercors mountains and your descent finishes by meandering through the houses of the village of Pontaix.
Canoeing down the Drôme
Would you like to canoe down the Drôme? Nothing could be simpler, we take care of everything! We offer several ways of going down the river in a canoe or kayak: a double canoe for a team or for 3 people with a child; a single-seat kayak for single people; a single-person inner tube (inflated buoy) depending on the water level.
To get to the starting points we take you by minibus to your embarkation point on the river. Once the safety instructions have been given, you can follow the Drôme river to your destination.
IMPORTANT : A mobile phone is compulsory (in case of problems), and you must have a swimsuit and closed shoes (flip-flops forbidden).
All trips are provided with a lifejacket, helmet for children under 18 years old. We lend you a waterproof canister to keep your gear dry.
